Two hard-working entrepreneurs from New York City, Guerby and Shannon, met while running their own businesses and searching for their soulmates. They found everything they were looking for in each other, fell in love, and began working together on their passion projects. The motivated pair love to travel and explore new spaces—especially beautiful and unique tea shops. They share a dream of creating magical experiences for people seeking a quiet break or a shared moment over a healthy cup of tea. They envisioned a space for others to make memories, meet up, and even fall in love.
The pandemic opened Shannon and Guerby’s eyes in March 2020. As they watched loved ones fall ill, saw businesses shuttered, and found themselves confined to their small apartment in Queens, their priorities shifted. Health, wellness, love, happiness, and relationships became more important to them than ever. They decided to combine their talents and make a difference by changing their own lifestyle and launching Joseph's Tea as an online store to help people experience the health benefits and serenity tea can bring.
They moved to Tampa, Florida, in June 2020 and officially launched Joseph's Tea as an online tea shop in July 2020. That same year, they got engaged in September, bought their first home in November, and married on May 23, 2021! In September 2021, they opened Joseph's Tea Room and Shop in Clearwater, Florida. This first brick-and-mortar location took a ton of hard work and love to open. Initially, they could only seat up to 25 guests, but they quickly saw an opportunity to expand and took a leap of faith. In October 2022, they added 2,000 square feet to their Tea Room, which now accommodates up to 80 guests in their beautiful, bright dining room.
On January 2, 2023, the Josephs welcomed their first-born child, their son, Denzel Maximilian Joseph, into the world! Building something they can share with their family and the community fills their hearts with joy. Their passion for health, wellness, and creating connections through tea shines through everything they do.
The Josephs continued their expansion with the opening of Joseph's Tea Bar in Dunedin, Florida, on August 1, 2023. Unlike the full tea room experience, the Tea Bar offers tea mocktails, lattes, espresso, tea flights, and light bites in a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere.
In September 2024, they achieved another milestone by beginning to award franchises, allowing others to share in their dream of bringing the Joseph's Tea experience to more communities.
